Josh Croom - One to watch...
Hampshire's Josh Croom
is an avid wearer of our cricket socks. We asked him to try out the new Badger Grip socks whilst in Australia for the winter, where he is plying his trade for Glenelg District Cricket Club in Grade cricket.
Josh played an instrumental part in the team reaching the Grand Final of the West End One Day Cup, where they faced West Torrens on February 13th, 2022.
Josh said of the Badger socks
Badger socks are great, massive fan of them!"
The 19-year-old, 6ft 4in left-arm fast bowler, who played for South Wiltshire in the Southern League before joining the Hampshire Academy in March 2021, is currently enjoying his second spell with Glenelg Cricket Club in Adelaide.
His first season bowling figures of 2-12, 4-31 and 7-23 for the seconds catapulted him into the first team, which was an unusual pick for an English cricketer at Grade A level, the highest in Australia.
Glenelg District Cricket Club, founded in 1907, is a well-respected Cricket Club located in a western suburb of Adelaide and the Chappell brothers Ian and Greg played for the club in their formative years.
In 2020, Josh was selected as a practice bowler when the Australian team was based at the Ageas Bowl between T-20 matches. He was also in their bubble for three weeks as a bowler, between tests, when Australia played India in Adelaide. Kane Richardson texted Josh to congratulate him on his call up to the Glenelg first team. Whilst in Australia, he attended the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy.
Josh, represented by Vitae Sports, whose philosophy is to provide a service and relationship covering all modern-day athletes' needs, will benefit from guidance in a sometimes-daunting sporting world for young sportspeople.
Josh Croom looks like an excellent prospect for the future. We hope to catch up with him when he returns for the English summer and get a bit more detail of why he is a massive fan of the Badger Cricket Grip Socks.
